Are you interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)?
CNAs play a vital role in patient care and spend a significant amount of time with patients. It’s a rewarding career path that can serve as a stepping stone towards a future in nursing or healthcare.
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you’ll provide hands-on medical care to patients, assisting them with essential tasks like bathing, dressing, and other daily activities we often take for granted. Your support will make a meaningful difference to those who rely on you, whether they are elderly, disabled, injured, or facing other health challenges.
RCI’s ABHES accredited CNA Program is approved by the California Department of Public Health. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate of eligibility to take the State Competency Test through the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) / American Red Cross. Passing this exam is necessary to become a certified nursing assistant in California.

Some clinics will hire untrained and inexperienced workers and provide on-the-job training. However, these opportunities may be hard to find and may not be ideal for many reasons. Not to mention, they may sometimes put patients’ safety at risk. RCI offers training within medical facilities as part of our unique clinical program. Becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant is often seen as a stepping stone to becoming an RN or LVN. This natural transition in the medical profession often results in many job openings in entry-level positions.
In order to ensure that applicants meet the entry level requirements for training that will lead toward certification, we require certain documentation for students enrolling in our CNA course. Students must be 16 years old or older.
We offer Weekday and Weekend CNA classes. An updated medical course schedule for the Certified Nursing Assistant program may be found on the schedule page here.
